This product is a good grab and is great for quickly generating random magic items. One of my biggest gripes with the 3.5e OGL rules is that they don't cover many magical items. They DO cover a bunch of powers that you can combine to create magic items, and the rules for doing so are workable, but a table to actually generate the magic items would be very helpful indeed... and here it is! So if coming up with your own magic items gives you a headache, then definitely grab this!

My only gripe is that the second step (2nd of 3), which involves selecting the "base item", i.e. is it a bottle, a sword, a suit of armor, etc, is pretty heavily focused on armor and weapons. That being said, if you don't want the PCs to find another weapon, then just omit this step entirely! So I'm not gonna take off points for that.

A fun little generator. However, on my first roll I discovered there is no #42 in any of the sections, and was not given an explanation for that. I get the D.A. joke, but is that why there is no #42 in any of the sections? It's slightly funny but a little off-putting.

I suppose you (the owner of this book) will have to substitute your own item for that slot, and write it in somewhere on the chart. It's not so bad.

I think the suffixes are too powerful but I like the list of items and prefixes, and I like that there are detrimental effects so that an item can have a good attribute and a bad attribute.

I would use only the Base Items list for low-level adventures, including a prefix occasionally and only add suffixes for high-level adventures.

How do you squeeze a MILLION magic items into 15 pages? That seems to be a bit of a magic trick itself. This collection of random roll charts is pretty clearcut and easy to use. Really captures the feel of the epic magic weapon quest. But GMs be forwarded, DON'T use this for random treasure. Some of the combinations can quickly destroy any game balance in your game. On the first roll, I ended up with an Awesome Greataxe of Slaughter, which grants both a +5 bonus to AC AND a +5 bonus to damage. Not something you want falling into the hands of a 4th level player!

Another problem is that there is no pricing. Which I guess is fine since you don't expect your players to be making these things. But a bit of a problem if trying to figure out their resale value. For many of the abilities, you could figure it out if you try to match the abilities to the DMG, but that is an aweful lot of work.

A nice touch--you can make cursed items with this as well. You could end up with a protective amulet of tears. Which functions as BOTH a magic circle against evil and a minor globe of invulnerability. Which is a good thing...since you take double damage from all attacks!

I really liked 'One Million Magic Items' and after looking at it I intend to use it with my primary gaming group. It is really easy to make quick items with it and you never get the same effects. I pre-rolled about 20 or so items and I came out with some cool stuff. I dropped a couple sentence background for each one and I had some really cool items.

The only thing I think that could have been done is to incorporate a pricing and aura for each effect. This would have made the items so much better. I know this is difficult to do but I think I would have said 5 stars instead of 4 if the aura descriptors were there.<br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: Everything<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: The fact that it lacked the magic, aura, creation, and price descriptors with the abilities.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>

This PDF is exactly what it claims to be. It sounds like a fun idea which evokes a Diablo feel for magic items, so I decided to give it a shot. It's only $3.00, after all.

As the description says, there are three sets of tables d100 tables for prefixes, base items and suffixes.

Unfortunately, no effort has been made to try to balance the items at all. As an example, entries 5-9 on the prefix table correspond to a +1 to +5 bonus to AC, which is further hampered by the fact that it's an untyped bonus.

I would have liked to have seen prices given for each bonus, at the very least. As it is, I think that the idea is yet salvageable. It's fun to roll randomly for items, but I think it would serve much better if the DM simply assembled a custom weapon from the provided entries.

I've got to say, it could have been a lot better if they'd gone the extra mile, but for only $3.00 you get an attractive PDF with three large tables that delivers exactly what it promises. I'm quite happy wth the purchase.<br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: Great idea<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: Could have used some fleshing out, would like to see the tables broken down into smaller tables arranged by relative power level.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Acceptable<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>
