I needed the book after seeing the preview was enough to whet an appetite ready to game on Barsoom for a much needed change of pace.

As for those who claim that the material is not all that original, I think they miss the point that the material it is based on has been begging for a game setting for almost 100 years (in the case of the stories by Burroughs). I, for one, am glad someone put out a game like this to show just how enduring the novels that started the genre of Martian tales is.

If you appreciate Burroughs, then you will appreciate this game. For all of its flaws, both the literary works and this game, it is worth having on both counts. As a gamer who prefers settings that offer something out of the ordinary all I have to add is more of this, please.
