The new units in the book, the CEF's Stealth Frames and Eden's GOLEMS, are very nice additions and the scenarios seem to be one the whole very good. I wish there had been new models for other factions, but we'll have to wait until the next module for that. The campaign system is also interesting and adds a new dimension to the game, though I personally could have used some examples and more details. It must be said that the system(s) suggested allow for a large degree of freedom for player to personalize the campaign to fit their own tastes.
I have to say, however, that at $20 for 54 pages of material (including some blank forms at the end), this book is seriously overpriced. ... [TEXT_READ_FULL_REVIEW]

This is a very good book. The new factions, Caprice (insect-like walkers called "Mounts"), the CEF (with hovertanks and fast-hitting Frames) and the Black Talons (Elite Terra Novan guerillas), are all very neat and well described. Overall, the new rules are a nice addition.
An important section of the book is taken up by a major advance to the Heavy Gear storyline, which is mostly good except for some weird moments that seen lifted straight out of bad anime.
On of my only gripes is that the quality of the art is very uneven, and does not match the high standards set by previous Heavy Gear books. ... [TEXT_READ_FULL_REVIEW]

The greatest incarnation of the Heavy Gear miniature game yet! Great and elegant rules. And significantly less typos than in previous DP9 products. Due to both the price and the updates, the PDF is definitely the format to go with.
