This brief introduction doesn't go into the myth and ritual of the Triads (for which there are many other sources) but concentrates on their modern, worldwide organisation, described largely by analogy with the Mafia which is perhaps close enough.
I was surprised to see little detail about extortion or heroin trafficking routes and methods. There's not a lot of detail about their low-level organisation (size of groups and use of weapons, for example) at the level where the PCs are likely actually to encounter them. No doubt there's only so much that could be covered in 5 pages.

DISLIKED: The sample PCs are combat oriented to the point where even the territorial underbosses don't carry such a thing as a cellphone and have unimpressive organisational skills for their level. Considering the sophisticated nature and complex organisation of many of their crimes, their skills outside of kung fu and gunfighting might have been worth a bit more thought.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
