Pulp Hero (5th Edition)

If you are interested in pulp era gaming, pick this up. Even if you don't play the Hero System (which I don't), pick this up. It is a top-notch resource for pulp era gaming; one which you shouldn't be without.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
While horror gaming isn't my cup of tea, the guys at 12 to Midnight always put out top notch stuff and this one is no exception. This is well done and thought out and would be good for a one-shot night or integrated into an existing modern based campaign.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Good product if you are running a Davinci Code inspired game or one heavy with religious conspiracy. As with all of the Dispatch products, it's a clean and well done layout that isn't sore on the eyes.

Overall...good product.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Although I don't think d20 Modern needs a 7th base class, there are some interesting ideas here. I think this would actually be better-off as a replacement for the 6 base classes; make this the one and only class available to players and they can customize more.

LIKED: It's a clean and neat layout without gaudy graphics and bad artwork.

DISLIKED: Overall nothing; while not entirely useful for my gaming needs it is a strong product.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Modern Dispatch (#39): Blood and Dragons
Publisher: RPG Objects
by Geoff S. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/12/2005 00:00:00

Good strong content, which RPGObjects produces on a regular basis. Nice addition to dragon "mythology" and a good read for anyone running a modern campaign and thinking of introducing dragons into the mix.

THRILLING TALES: Secret Squadron Membership
Publisher: Adamant Entertainment
by Geoff S. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/12/2005 00:00:00

Most of the content is good stuff, but the promise of "Adamant Entertainment released 7 Thrilling Tales products in December 2004, and will release a minimum of 30 pages of new Thrilling Tales material each and every month of 2005" has not been kept.

*Response to publisher comment: Yes, it's true, you have averaged above 30 pages per month, but your advertising "sell sheet" says "30 pages of new Thrilling Tales material each and every month of 2005" and not "an average of 30 pages per month," hence the stated promise of 30 pages per month is false advertising.

Creator Reply:
Whereas we haven't released a minimum of 30 pages each month, when you take into account the longer products, we have averaged well above 30 pages per month in 2005.
