Esper Genesis 5E Sci-fi - Core Manual
Publisher: Alligator Alley Entertainment

I have watched Esper Genesis grow as I was a playtester and (late to the game) Backer. I have loved how they tweaked 5E to make it more well rounded and added a universe that begs to be explored. I have found that I love the classes and races in Esper more than I ever loved 5e D&D (bugbear aside) and I love running Crucible Corps and now that my players have eaten up all of that my own universe. I cannot rave more about this game, yes first edition had a lot of things to be fixed but they pushed out an update in lightning fast speed and updated the pdf accordingly. PLAY THIS GAME!!

It's elementary my dear Dwarf elementary. Sooo much investigation and exploration kudos to the writers this one was a fun one; I still hate the cloaks. But this is a fun one, can go in crazy tangents so be prepared to pull your players back in from the cold. I would DM this again. -DM Ace

This was another emotionally packed jump into the mists. Of course AL hand waves make somethings not fun.... BUT I HAVE THE GOLD TO BUY RATIONS FOR EVERYONE FOR A YEAR! Yeah that happend but it was a fun time and that end fight oomph thats a stinger! I would DM this again! -DM Ace

Jenny you complete me! Through the ups and lows you made it the finale of Misty hearts and the broken players club or whatever the story was. Joking aside this was a fun way to end it and that fluff on the magic items heart So much awesome, not a module to just drop on players and that first scene can stretch and make you go over time but is sooo worth it. I would DM this again. -DM Ace

That begining though! Push through the tunnel of the first part of this module then slide down into the awesome sauce. A good romp in the gothic horrors of Barovia. Played it once, DMed it 3 times fun every time! You do need to connect with the NPC and play it full out to get the max from this. I would DM again. -DM Ace

One of the worst of the season. Didn't carry the same tone, boring combat one of those easily forgettable modules that you wished you either didn't play or played something else. It feels like it was written for another season and then thrown into the mists. I would not DM again. -DM Ace

So much going on!!! The Donjon is that guy who is trying to cozy up to every girl at the bar. Dungeon Crawl, you know it baby Stealth? I can do that. Ability Checks? I am the ability Checkers. Its so busy that its tone gets messed up a bit. I think a little more play testing would have helped to distill this to a truely epic module as it is its good but not too good. -DM Ace

Its got it all: Mix of play types, an NPC I hate, replayability. I have problems in that I want a certain NPC to die for being a douche but that shouldnt take away from the enjoyment of this well rounded adventure! I would DM again. -DM Ace

Black Road is VERY FUN!!! It is a straight forward run into adventure. The hooks could have more umph and the combat could have more meaning but it is so fun. I would play this again! -DM Ace

I have ran these like 10 times and I LOVE THEM!!!!! I had the joy of running through these with Shawn at QCC a few years back and it was one of the best experiences of my t1 life. We ended up going through almost the whole module without killing a thing. Its my go to module for teaching new players (new to RPG's that is if they are new to 5E then its Death House). I can't wait to DM this again! -DM Ace

This is not the combat module you thought it was. This one 1 ran once on the fly and hated it, the players hated it, my dog hated it. It just didn't fly so I dove into it and read it pulled it appart and then ran it again but spent 15 minutes talking with the players before hand. We loved it actually streteched it out as we had about 45 minutes of straight character roleplaying! I highly recommend those that disliked it give it another shot! I would DM this again! -DM Ace

I tried, I ran it twice and each time was painful. Its got potential is just doesn't shine through. The traps need to be tweeked which is the worst because there just isnt much to do about that without totally changing the module. I think it could play well maybe but I didn't see it. It was unfun to DM, not exciting to play and just underwhelming. I would not DM this again. -DM Ace

Its a combat heavy module. Both times I ran it I had players asking if there was anything else to do. T1 mods can be great for learning combat tiss true but some additional skill checks would have been nice to see. As a t1 I don't think I would run it again as there is so much to choose from that does it better. -DM Ace

Story doesn't quite hit it, kinda we care but we don't care vibe from players. Gold helps lol. The combat is always fun in season 5 and this one was extra spicey some people made some silly mistakes and ale will be shared for the brain of Mulcluff the Durgar as it was smashed out of his body. I don't think I will get a request to run this again but I would if asked. -DM Ace
