Selected Option:

If H. P. Lovecraft didn’t have Hans Christian Andersen’s depiction of the Sea Witch’s dwelling (from The Little Mermaid) in mind when he penned Dagon, he should have.

The Portsmouth Mermaid takes place over the twelve days of a Yuletide Celebration in the town of Portsmouth, north of Westlake. The adventure is largely political, with several factions, all of which have a different optimal outcome. The PCs have to figure out what is going on, decide what to do about it, and then live with the consequences.

A Dungeon Crawl Classics adventure for 4-8 level 2 characters by Daniel J. Bishop.

Written by Daniel J. Bishop • Cover Design by Matt Morrow • Cartography by Kristian Richards • Editing by Perry Fehr • Interior Art by Luigi Castellani; Layout by Mark Gedak

Are there any plans on continuing this series beyond FT 2.5? I'm really interested but looks like the other books may have died by wayside?

Yes. The next part is not going as quickly as anyone would like, but it has not been forgotten.

Is this adventure for 4-8 characters who are level 2, or is it for two characters who are level 4-8? I can use one of these but not the other.

Make your trip to Portsmouth the best it can be. Grab Crawl! #11 (Straycouches) for the scoop on special creature that serves immortal Dagon. Then keep your eyes on the Duck for more Portsmouth-y goodness.

Is there a reason that these modules (A, C, F) are all on sale saving ONE CENT each? Is that a mistake or is it April already?

It's Rpgnow's internal software we ran a sale in December. We reversed the sale on January 1st. It works with %off and %on and sometimes there is rounding error by Rpgnow's software. To double check them I would need to scroll through 677 Purple Duck Games products so the time is not worth a cent here or a cent there.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
