Question: is this 8½x11 or 5x9 size?

This is 6x9" format size. I had standardized on that in the past, but am looking at options for changing that due to the changes and costs involved in printing these days due to the pandemic and inflation.

Unfortunately, I can't write a review (maybe because it's the Deal of the day?), but I'll say it here : this book is awesome.

I binged-read it in one sitting, on my computer screen, and loved every second of it. There is definitely humor in it, but it's always a light touch thats adds personality and charm without detracting from the advice. The content itself is amazing, and help players and GMs to understand how to approach old-school dungeoneering to make their games more fun and simply better.

Highly recommended!

Thank goodness I did not buy the print version as I originally planned. Artwork is very, very sparse, considering the price point of the product. Tons of huge empty spaces in many page sidebars. Bought a PDF on Lulu but quite disappointed overall, very weird layout choice and a very minimal amount of the same artwork you see in every OSR PDF, licensed for the umpteenth time.

Todor, thanks for commenting on your purchase. The artwork in the product plays a small supporting role to the meat and potatoes of it, which is the dungeoneering advice. The design of the book is to maintain content consistency throughout for the written content.

Buying the print or digital versions (even on Lulu) gets you access to the ebook versions (mobi, epub, raw text) even if the site selling it doesn't provide those directly. Most other companies charge additionally for those formats, but we include them in the main purchase. If you'd like these, simply go to the digital+ page at our website for information on how to receive those.

Absolutely! Just make sure that you're signed up to receive emails from us from this site. We're also setting up our own email newsletters at our own website to provide other news on products in development.

We should be releasing an updated PDF shortly, including the ebook versions. That version will be used to make the POD versions of the product at multiple POD stores. The only one we can do a discount on is this one, but we're looking at how to do it at other sites too.

There's a little difference in paper quality, but the content will be the same and at the same size (6x9). I'm going to try to match the paper up as much as possible so that the books can see heavy use at the table.
