Adamant Entertainment brings the pulse-pounding excitement of the pulp genre to D20 Modern with Thrilling Tales!

THRILLING TALES Advanced Class Collection Two details the 9th through 15th D20 Modern Advanced Classes released by Adamant Entertainment for your pulp-genre campaigns.

Included in this collection are:
  • Gumshoe:The P.I...the Detective: the pulp archetypes of the tough-as-nails, rough-around-the-edges, hard-boiled investigator. A file cabinet filled with cases, a beat-up desk, a name on the door and a reputation for getting his man. Many times, this is all a Gumshoe has to call his own, but while his life is often unglamorous, it is hardly ever boring.
  • Ace Reporter: Smart, charismatic, and-- most of all-- lucky. It's a tough world out there, and someone has to get the facts! Ready to solve the world's mysteries, armed only with a pen, a pistol, and the power of the press!
  • Rocket Ranger: With his trusty rocket pack strapped to his back, the Rocket Ranger is an ace who needs no plane! This is the archetype embodied by classic heroes like King of the Rocket Men and Buck Rogers, and recent pulp-genre heroes like Dave Stevens' The Rocketeer.
  • Boxer: From matches in the squared circle to bare-hand brawls in the back-alleys of Sumatra, the Boxer is a two-fisted master of the puglistic arts! Boxing pulps were very popular in the 1930s (Robert E. Howard wrote many, and was a boxer himself), and this Advanced Class represents the archetype of such heroes as Dennis Dorgan or Mike Brennan.
  • Fortune Hunter: Equally at home in the library or an ancient tomb, the Fortune Hunter is part researcher, part archaeologist, and part explorer, dedicated to seeking out lost treasures, hidden secrets and more!
  • Femme Fatale: Strong-willed, independent and deadly, the Femme Fatale is an archetype of the pulps: women who pursue nefarious goals while stealing the hearts of stalwart heroes. .
  • Big Game Hunter: The Big Game Hunter travels the untamed forests and jungles of the world, searching for exotic trophies. He can be a guide for your heroes...but can also be the villain, disregarding local laws and traditions in order to poach his prey and pillage the land.

These 7 PDFs sell seperately for $14.00, but are available in this package for a 25% discount. Be sure to watch for future Advanced Class collections!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
